Summer Camp
Our summer camp series PasspART: Explore the World of the Arts serves a variety of ages and interests. Camp takes place at the Boyle County Performing Arts Center and is open to ALL students in our community - not just those that attend Boyle County Schools. Camp costs $100 and includes all supplies, lunch, snacks, and a camp tshirt. Free/reduced lunch pricing is available. CLICK HERE to see if your family qualifies for a reduced rate. Camp is capped at 125 students.
Explore the World of POParts: June 16-20
NEW THIS YEAR: Students will explore the World of the POParts choosing from a variety of arts classes - from printmaking to musical theatre to jazz band and more! All camp classes will center around a POP culture theme. Students get to choose 4 classes across all disciplines and rotate through like a day at an arts school. A sample schedule could be:

Kids can choose whatever classes they want! If a kid wants 4 visual art classes - they can do that! If they want to sing and dance all day, they can do that! Families will recieve a sepearte email after registering for camp to choose classes. Class offerings are listed below. Camp will conclude with a brief performance and showcase of art created.
WHEN: June 16 - 20, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Drop-off from 8:30 AM each day.

WHO: Rising 4th graders through 12th graders from ANY school

Explore the World of VISUAL ART
Class Offerings
Fiber Arts: Unleash your creativity in this hands-on fiber arts class! Explore the art of needle felting where you'll sculpt wool into charming shapes and textures using specialized barbed needles. Dive into string art, crafting intricate designs by wrapping colorful threads around nails on wood. Finally, discover the timeless craft of embroidery, learning essential stitches to embellish fabric with beautiful patterns.
Block & Roll Printmaking that POPS: In this session artists will get to experiment with a variety printmaking techniques to create amazing Warhol and Picasso inspired prints.
Multimedia Sculptures: Make 3-D Art using a variety of supplies such as paper mache', modeling clay, newspaper, cardboard and found objects.
Christmas in June!: Help make the season bright for Danville by creating photo ops that will be on display at Weisiger Park and Constitution Square. In this community-based project, students will work as a team to draw and paint a gingerbread village and pine trees. As time allows, students may have an opportunity to create their own miniature gingerbread house painting to take home with them.

Class Offerings
Street & Hip Hop: Students will learn hip hop tricks and street dance moves, as well as a short routine to perform in the showcase at the end of the week.
Jazz: Students will learn some jazz skills and dance fundamentals, as well as a short routine to perform in the showcase at the end of the week.

Improvisation: Unlock your creativity and enhance your spontaneity in an engaging Improv Class! Designed for students of all skill levels, this class provides a supportive environment where participants can explore the art of improvisation through games, exercises, and collaborative performances.
Scene Work: Dive into the world of dramatic storytelling in our Scene Work Class! This course is perfect for aspiring actors and seasoned performers alike who want to enhance their skills in character development, dialogue delivery, and emotional authenticity. In this class we will take scenes and work on breaking them apart, build characters, work on emotion and line delivery, and perform for each other.
Musical Theatre: Step into the spotlight in our exciting Musical Theater Class, where the vibrant worlds of theater, music, and dance come together in a powerful collaboration! Designed for performers of all levels, this class offers a comprehensive approach to the art of musical theater, empowering students to express themselves through multiple disciplines.

Show Choir: Bring music to life through dynamic singing and choreography! This class combines vocal performance with exciting movement, helping students develop stage presence, harmonization, and confidence.
Concert Choir: Experience the power of group singing! This class focuses on vocal technique, harmony, and vocal expression while exploring a variety of POP choral music in an esemble setting.
Musical Theatre: Step into the spotlight in our exciting Musical Theater Class, where the vibrant worlds of theater, music, and dance come together in a powerful collaboration! Designed for performers of all levels, this class offers a comprehensive approach to the art of musical theater, empowering students to express themselves through multiple disciplines.
Jazz Band: Musicians will explore the art of jazz through improvisation and ensemble playing with POP music and other familiar tunes. This class is for students that can already play a band instrument.
